Introduction

Published 3 may 2023

This is version 17 of the collected clarifications to the rules for the Middle- earth: Collectible Card Game.

Some of these clarifications are considered errata to the rules or cards, and are noted as such. The Turn Sequence and Rulings by Term sections are specifically considered clarifications to the rules, and are therefore overridden by card text that specifically does so.

As many of you know, no changes have been made to the CRF since 2002 for various reasons. The current CoE considers it very necessary to update this document in order to solve many unresolved situations that arise during our games.

Hence, the CoE Rules Committee has decided to bring back the original ICE system and publish an updated version of the CRF on a regular basis. Future versions will contain new rulings that may come from community queries (digests) or unresolved situations already known to the CoE.

This first version after so many years aims to organize all the existing official information that was not integrated in the CRF 16:

  • Rulings that were made by the CoE but not transcribed into the CRF.
  • Correction of some erroneous entries on CRF 16.
  • Recovery of some lost entries from CRF 15.
  • Complete Errata Listing and Rulings Monday sections have been integrated and removed
  • Minor adjustments.
