Start at the Under-galleries.
Durthak runs up and down the havens playing VoM and picking up Stinker.
Bolgs company grabs as many shields as possible and accompanies Balrog to Dragonlairs, Foul-smelling Paste could come in handy.
Play Caverns Unchoked on the Wind-deeps.
Sideboard Heart of Dark Fire to be sure of rousing the Dragons.
You could use the Parsimony-trick to get Dragons in your playdeck.
If your opponent is playing Elf-lords, sideboard Roam the Waste.
This deck needs to be played fast cause you sideboard a lot, so dont try to play a multi-combo hazard-strategy.
And dont play Slimy with Bolg and his lads.

Hi Alfons, nice deck. This is the one you used at Dutch National Qualifiers in the spring, if I recall correctly, right? Anyway, it’s quite a good deck. I’d just suggest a couple of things:
- You probably only need 2 copies of Strangling Coils, as it isn’t particularly amazing until you need to rouse the dragons (which doesn’t occur until about 4 turns in, if I understand the deck correctly).
- You’re gonna need Out He Sprang to get the Balrog moving around upstairs. I’d suggest putting at least one straight in the deck, and perhaps another in the sideboard.
- How can you tell if your opponent is playing elflords until you start moving around upstairs? I’d say just bring the Roam the Waste over no matter what.
- You might want to try We Have Come to Kill to help you bring in your backup characters. All the sites you visit allow WHCtK (since they’re all and .
You’re right about Out He Sprang, I forgot about that one, indeed 1 in deck, 1 in SB. 1 Strangling goes out.
WHCtK is nice, but not necesary in the deeps and by the time you surface you got your company together and all influence is used up.
They can handle some hazards with shields, Crept Along, RoamtW, VoM and you still got Foul Smelling, wich heals and untaps hard-to-kill-balrog.
Besides, wich cards would you leave out? I can only think of Dark Tryst.
About RoamtW, always a dificult choice, but if I don’t see any Dwarfs, Maia’s or Master of the House and
no one returns beyond all hope, I don’t slow down the deck with it.
And about GCCG, ehh.. yeah, I should finaly get that installed by Wouter.
But when I show up there, don’t laugh if I’m screaming for help, computers tend to do weird stuff when I’m pushing the buttons!
